Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure all rigging operations are in accordance with safe working practice. If they have any doubt about the safety of the operation, they will bring this to the attention of the DrillerÂ
- Use only rigging gear (shackles, slings, straps, etc) which are in good condition and in-date (colour coded) for certification.Â
- Ensure that equipment is rigged safely, as per best working practices.
- Ensure that the deck area is kept clean and free of all unused equipment.Â
- Assist with the maintenance of all Derrick equipment to a good safe working standard.Â
- Assist with the operation of the Derrick and associated Land rig Derrick systems.Â
- Assist with the preparation of Land rig tools.Â
- Under instruction from the Driller will carry out Emergency Disconnection Drill to ensure that all deck personnel are familiar with these operations.Â
- Under instruction from the Driller will carry out Land rig Drills.Â
- Ensure that they are involved in the weekly safety meetings with their crew.Â
- Ensure that Health & Safety policies are understood by all crew members.Â
- Ensure that they attend all toolbox/TRAC meetings, for all operational and safety aspects of the 12-hour shift.Â
- In conjunction with the Driller, ensure Deck Personnel are being trained to meet the company’s training requirements.Â
