Title: Account Officer
Location:Â Ikeja GRA, Lagos

Job Summary
- The ideal candidate is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across the Accounts Department.Â
- This role oversees the Accounts and Internal Control units, ensuring sound financial management, internal compliance, and timely reporting to management.Â
- The ideal candidate will combine technical accounting knowledge with strong analytical skills to drive financial accuracy, efficiency, and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and reconciliations in line with statutory requirements and internal timelines.
- Lead the budgeting process, monitor variances, and provide financial forecasts to guide strategic planning and operational decisions.
- Supervise daily accounting operations including payables, receivables, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.
- Develop, implement, and monitor financial policies, procedures, and internal control systems to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risks.
- Oversee internal audits, coordinate external audit exercises, and ensure prompt resolution of audit findings and recommendations.
- Provide financial insights and performance analysis to management for effective business decision-making.
- Ensure tax compliance, regulatory filings, and maintain effective relationships with auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions.
- Lead, manage, and develop the finance and internal control teams by setting clear goals, monitoring performance, and facilitating continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA is an advantage).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar finance/accounting leadership role.
- Professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) is an added advantage
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory standards.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- High integrity, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in ERP and accounting software such as Sage and Microsoft Excel.
